Bandhavgarh Foundation
The keen interest of the Chairman Maharaja Pushpraj Singh towards the protection of wild life and environment, along with the welfare of the Tribal, lead to the formation of this rust in 1995/96. However, this Trust mainly focused on the problems of Tiger and its habitat with Bandhavgarh as its focal area. At that time there was a major threats on the Tiger in Bandhavgarh and with the poaching of world famous "Sita" the tigress that appeared on the front page of National Geography, things had even worsened. There was a potent threat of "mukti-sena" an off shot of Naxals making a dent and at all costs it needed to be defended. A rapport between foresters and villagers had to be struck. This Foundation thus became a link and affectively began its work with a dynamic working trustee, from Shahdol.
The hard work gave positive result and for the 1st time Bandhavgarh caught the eyes of agencies like WWF and Godrej Foundation. It received donation worth 1.3million, where wireless sets, jeeps, hand-sets, motorcycle and rain coats were provided to the department. Today it is on the Wild Life Board of India, haded by P.M.
The main objects of the Foundation were:

Under the chairman's able leadership the Trust has embarked. upon a policy followed by most of the famous religious Trust in lndia, where a proper system of giving donation is evolved & an audit maintained. The "Chadhava" which comes is used back in the development of these temples! the rituals are carried on by the Pujaris who are chosen on their merits.
Many of these Temples have very old stone carvings of the kalchuri& Baghel era and henceforth repairs have been carried out to attract tourists too! The old wooden rafters have been replaced or repaired the floor redone or broken slab-stone repaired.
